The Gamer and The Printmaker Bundle

Owing to the facts that my husband was the model and the inspiration for "The Gamer" and I was my own model and inspiration for "The Printmaker" it's my feeling that these two prints from my ongoing series are best together.

The Gamer:

Both of these images were carved into and printed from an endgrain holly rounds. For "The Gamer", the title and lyrics were printed from twelve point Worrell Uncial hand set type, and the text below that is printed from eight point Della Robbia hand set type. The text for "The Printmaker" was printed from twelve and eight point Della Robbia hand set type.

These are two images in a series of 82 Dance of Death images that I'm engraving into endgrain wood and printing along with moveable type. Forty-one of the images are from Hans Holbein the Younger's 1538 series that was originally carved by the formschneider Hans Lützelburger. The remaining forty-one prints in the series will all be made from my own original drawings. The combination of old and new prints in the series reflect how much changes through time with the exception of this one equalizing truth.
